Be Still

Life is a rat race. So many of us strive to work hard to get that promotion at work only to realize it comes with no pay increase but plenty of headaches. Some of us take on the burdens of the entire world hoping to fix everything that’s wrong. Then there are those of us who just struggle to keep up with the day to day activities and nuances:   work, schooling for the kids, paying the bills, car problems, work problems, homework problems, trying to keep some semblance of order in our house. The list could go on and on. I want this year to be different. I want to jump off the treadmill that gives me only one direction and one speed to run. I want to slow life down and enjoy. I want to be still before God and get to know Him on a level I never knew Him before. I can’t do that with all the craziness that’s going on around me. There will be days I don’t answer the phone, respond to emails, or even get dressed. Last year my theme was “Christ magnified through me.” This year
